One of the objectives that Amarutrek Expeditions has as a company is to implement the social and economic development of our Andean communities.

Providing opportunities to the local population is vital to ensure that tourism benefits the communities, improves living standards and creates opportunities for its people.

We actively participate in the creation of social projects to benefit local communities through donations such as clothing, food, and educational support, etc.

We provide occupational training to villagers in isolated communities of the Andes in skills, such as weaving, llama farming, aggregate production and much more. These skills will help villagers produce a more stable income for daily living.

We provide community employees with equal employment opportunities such as decent wages and health insurance for our staff and their families.

We work with one particular community called Huayllabamba, which is located along the Inca Trail.  We work with many families within this wonderful community and have committed to helping them as one of our priorities. We ensure to preserve and protect the indigenous traditions of these Incan communities so they are not lost in our future.  We also provide educational scholarships to the villagers that lack resources to continue with their education and pursue their future potential.

Amarutrek Expeditions commits itself to share the spirit of Christmas by participating in social activities by distributing gifts, meals and hot chocolate to families and children within local communities.

If you would like to participate or donate to this special annual project, please do contact us!

All of these activities could not happen without the support we receive from our wonderful sponsors, partners and past customers! We would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
